Security

How secure is my information?

Data security is essential for the ARC Document Retrieval Service. Not only does the application reside on a secured Web site, but also there are strict data access rules that mean only the carrier that validated a transaction will have access to that transaction. User IDs are unique, and we have designed the security system so that each agency and carrier maintains its own User IDs.

How can I protect the security of my User ID and password?

As with any computer-related password, it is inadvisable to share this information with even a trusted coworker or to allow any other person to sign in with your User ID and password. Reminder notes with this information should never be posted anywhere in your workstation.

There is no limit to the number of ARC Document Retrieval Service users that an organization may have. Please see your organization's designated Security Manager to sign up new users.

What if I forget or lose my password?

The ARC Document Retrieval Service is designed so you can change your own password at any time. If you think your password has been compromised, you can immediately change it yourself, without requiring anyone else to be involved.

Your organization's Security Manager can easily reset your password if you forget it. If it is your User ID that is compromised, your Security Manager will assign you a new one.

How often must I change my password?

Passwords should be changed at least every 90 days. Passwords automatically expire every 120 days.  If a user has not changed her password in the last 121 or more days, that user will be locked out of the system and a Security Manager or Supervisor will need to reset that user’s password.

Do I need to logout?

The ARC Document Retrieval Service automatically times out a user after an hour of inactivity. For that reason, you should get into the habit of logging out of ARC COMPASS (using the red system Logout button) any time you leave your workstation.
