What if I forget or lose my password?
Security Managers need to contact ARC to have your organization’s password reset. If your password becomes compromised, the ARC COMPASS Profile Administration System is designed so you can change your own password at any time.
What are ARC COMPASS® and the ARC Document Retrieval Service?
ARC COMPASS is a data warehouse containing 39 months of travel transaction information settled by ARC. It is the recognized industry data store and is the power behind a number of products and services including the ARC Document Retrieval Service.
The ARC Document Retrieval Service is a web-based storage and retrieval solution for ticketed transportation transactions. The service provides its users with secure and easy-to-use access to electronic versions of their ticketed transactions stored in ARC COMPASS covering the past 39 months.
How do I sign up?
There is an online application for the ARC Document Retrieval Service available to Agencies and Corporate Travel Departments (CTDs). (Carriers are required to complete and submit a printed application.) An owner or officer of your organization can complete the application and should be prepared with the organization’s IAR Primary Master PIN and Password as well as your company’s Federal Tax ID number and bank account number that is on file with ARC. There are more detailed instructions at the application itself. Click here to go to the application. (If your organization is already using the service, it is easy to add new additional users. Please see your organization’s designated Security Manager for more information.)
When is the system available?
The ARC COMPASS Profile Administration System is available 24 hours a day seven days a week and information is updated daily, by 9 AM Eastern Standard Time.
How does a user login for the first time?
It's easy! Just go to the secure Web site after completing an application and receiving start up information. (You may want to bookmark the page.) To login, type in your organization number (8-digit ARC number for agents and 3-digit carrier code for carriers) and your ARC User ID and Password. At your initial login, you will be prompted to change your password. From there, you will be able to search for transactions and review summary information and detailed text images.
How many users can one organization have?
There is no limit to the number of ARC Document Retrieval Service users that an organization may have. Please see your organization’s designated Security Manager for more information.
Do I need any special software or equipment?
No, not really. There are only a few security features and settings required on your PC to use the service.
You will need to have “cookies” enabled on your browser. The following link explains a bit about cookies and how to check some of the settings: http://www.microsoft.com/info/cookies.htm
Your browser also requires 128-bit encryption. If you don’t already have this level of browser, upgrading is easy and information can be found at one of these links:

How much does it cost to use ARC COMPASS Profile Administration System?
There is no charge for access to the basic ARC COMPASS Profile Administration System. It is a part of the ARC core products suite.
How can I protect the security of my User ID and password?
As with any computer-related password, it is inadvisable to share this information with even a trusted coworker or to allow any other person to sign in with your User ID and password. Reminder notes with this information should never be posted anywhere in your workstation.
How often must I change my password?
Passwords should be changed at least every 60 days. Passwords automatically expire every 90 days. If a user has not changed her password in the last 60 or more days, that user will be locked out of the system and a Security Manager or Supervisor will need to reset that user’s password.
Do I need to logout?
The ARC COMPASS Profile administration System automatically times out a user after an hour of inactivity. For that reason, you should get into the habit of logging out (using the blue system Logout button) any time you leave your workstation.
