Every memo in Memo Manager has two associated statuses. There is a primary status, and a secondary status. All memos must have a primary and secondary status.
The status of the memo is the state at which a memo rests. Every transaction or action has the potential to change the status of a memo. One of these is when an agency overpays a debit memo. The status of the memo will change to "Closed-Sign Change Forced" In such cases, the carrier usually issues a credit memo to the agency for the difference.
