Tip of the Week: Disputing Memos in Memo Manager

Do you have a memo that you need to dispute? You can do that in Memo Manager!

To dispute a memo, on the Memo Detail screen:

  1. Click the Dispute button.
  2. The Memo Manager – Dispute screen will display.
  3. Enter the dispute dollar value in the Dispute Amount field.
  4. Enter any comments concerning the dispute in the Comment (public) textbox.
  5. Click the Submit button.
  6. The Memo Manager – Save screen will display asking, Do you want to submit changes?
  7. Click the Yes button to save the changes.

If you are simply entering comments in the public correspondence to a carrier, the status of the memo will not change. Therefore, if you are actually disputing a memo, we recommend that you use the dispute feature outlined above.

Once you have completed this process, the status of the memo will change to Open-Dispute Pending. The carrier will know that you have submitted a dispute as they will be working memos in the Open-Dispute Pending status. At this point, the carrier will either accept or reject the dispute.
