Important Labor Day Holiday Information

In observance of Labor Day, please note the following schedule changes:

Sales Report Submissions Extended
Agencies will have an extra day to submit the sales report for PED 09/06/15. The weekly sales report must be authorized by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9.

Ticket Modification/Voiding Schedule
Please note the following extension dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued in the GDS on Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6. The GDS/IAR void/modification extension date is Tuesday, September 8.

Placing Emergency Document Requisition Orders Before The Labor Day Holiday

Your emergency order should be placed in advance of the 4 p.m. EDT cut-off time on Thursday, September 3 to ensure that it is received on Friday, September 4. Any emergency orders placed on Friday, September 4 will not be delivered until Tuesday, September 8. Please order your stock accordingly.


ARC Suspends Processing of SkyGreece Airlines

ARC has learned that SkyGreece Airlines (GW/358) suspended operations and will therefore suspend the processing of transactions in IAR, effective August 27, 2015.

Reminder: My ARC Extended Outage September 19–20

My ARC will be unavailable for an extended outage the weekend starting Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 10 a.m. EDT until Monday, September 21 at 7 a.m. EDT. During this scheduled time, you will not be able to access My ARC or any of its tools or products, including IAR and Memo Manager.

This full system outage is necessary in order to complete the final phase of a two-part database migration and a security update. ARC realizes this system unavailability has an impact on your work with My ARC tools. We are sharing this message with all My ARC users to allow time to plan any necessary schedule adjustments. The weekend dates were chosen to minimize the impact to My ARC users because weekends have the lowest amount of user activity. All systems are expected to be fully operational at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 21.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to further improve and secure ARC systems. Please share this information with others in your organization that may be impacted by these scheduled My ARC outages.


ARC's Updated Corporate Website is Live

Last week, we made several aesthetic changes to modernize our corporate website’s look and feel and help you navigate through it more smoothly. These updates include:

  • A cleaner homepage with easy-to-read news and events sections, so you can stay up to date on what we’re up to, and direct access to our airline sales statistics and fraud prevention pages to provide you with the business insights you need
  • A redesigned airline sales statistics page with a more comprehensive and interactive view of air transactions and trends
  • A new products page that puts you first, allowing you to filter products and services by your own business need for easier navigation and more accessible content
  • An updated participation page for quicker information on the different ways you can partner with ARC
  • A friendlier support page to get you quicker answers with direct access to an online help form as well as easy-to-find resources on all of your business needs
  • And, an improved about ARC page to help you and your peers better understand who we are, what we do and how it gets done

You’ve likely noticed that the My ARC login has shifted to the right-hand side of your screen, but it’s important to know that nothing behind My ARC has changed. Once you login, it’ll be business as usual!

Myanmar Airways International Joins ARC

Myanmar Airways International (8M/599) is joining ARC as a participating carrier effective with sales on August 31, 2015 (PED 09/06/15). Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is the international airline of Myanmar and is headquartered in the capital city of Yangon. Myanmar Airways International operates scheduled international services to destinations mainly in Southeast Asia – flying a fleet of three Airbus A-319s and an Airbus A-320. The carrier offers regular flights from Yangon to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Guangzhou and Gaya.

Myanmar Airways International is the only IATA Operational Safety Audit Program (IOSA) Operator in Myanmar, and in 2014, was awarded "National Winner" (for Myanmar) by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council for the Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise.

Myanmar Airways International has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Myanmar Airways International. Myanmar Airways International currently participates with Sabre, Amadeus and Galileo, and accepts cash only as a form of payment. Credit card acceptance will be added in the near future.

Tip of the Week: EDIFACT Messaging

EDIFACT stands for Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport, which is an international standard that specifies data requirements for conducting electronic data trade.

IAR uses EDIFACT messaging for ET Void, Refund and Refund Reversals to update carriers whenever an ARC agent performs a void, a refund or a refund reversal on an e-ticket directly in IAR. This EDIFACT messaging was implemented to help both agencies and carriers by keeping carrier databases synchronized. It also keeps IAR compliant with industry ticketing resolutions requiring verification of OPEN coupon status in the carrier's electronic ticket database prior to processing a void or refund.

ET EDIFACT messaging prevents unauthorized use of e-tickets, which have previously been used, refunded, exchanged or voided.
