New ARC Fraud Prevention Web Page

At the ARC TravelConnect event last month, ARC announced the launch of the new ARC Fraud Prevention web page. Previously, ARC maintained fraud prevention information behind My ARC, so only individuals with a My ARC login could access the information. In an attempt to provide fraud prevention information to a broader group of agents—including home based agents, independent consultants and any agent involved in ticketing—fraud prevention information is available to anyone at www.arccorp.com/fraudprevention.

If you experience or suspect fraud and would like guidance, please contact the ARC's fraud prevention team at 855-358-0393 or via email at fifp@arccorp.com.

Overhauled ARC Specialist Training and Certification Program begins January 2015

We've completed a major overhaul to the ARC Specialist Training and Certification Program and are excited to release the upgrades in January 2015. Changes to the program include updated course content, streamlined technology and the elimination of the current recertification examination.

Those that are already ARC Specialists are no longer required to retake the ARC Specialist examination every four years. Instead, they will be required to complete one continuing education module, hosted on an enhanced platform, every year to maintain certification.

Travel agents who would like to become ARC Specialists will have the option of taking the course and examination online (also using the new and enhanced hosting platform) or in a classroom setting offered twice a year at ARC's headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. For those new ARC Specialists who obtain the designation anytime within 2015, they will have 365 days to complete the first continuing education module.

The continuing education modules will also be made available to ARC Specialists via the hosting platform.

More information regarding the January 2015 release of the updated ARC Specialist Training and Certification Program, including the new training website, registration and FAQs, will be provided in the coming weeks.

Tip of the Week: How to Submit an Inaccessible IAR Sales Report

Are you having trouble authorizing and submitting your weekly sales report due to an "Inaccessible Sales Report" error message? This is the result of a minor system glitch, and there is a simple solution:

  1. Exit IAR by clicking on the “Close IAR” link in the upper right corner of the IAR sales report screen.
  2. The system will then ask you if you would like to close the browser. Click "Yes." IAR is a pop-up screen, so when you close that particular browser, My ARC should still be open as a separate window.
  3. From the My ARC homepage, select “IAR” from your toolbox.
  4. Open your sales report and authorize the submission.
