Tropic Air Joins ARC

Tropic Air Limited (9N/789) joins ARC as a participating carrier, effective with sales on Friday, August 1, 2014. Tropic Air offers service to 16 destinations in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras (Roatan Bay Island Honduras & San Pedro Sula) and Mexico (Cancun and Merida).

Tropic Air is headquartered in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize, and carried approximately 300,000 passengers in 2013. Tropic Air operates a fleet comprised of nine modern Cessna 208B Caravans in addition to other King Air, Cessna and Gippsland aircrafts. Tropic Air's team is made up of over 270 staff and has a network that encompasses over 180 flights per day.

Tropic Air has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointments whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Tropic Air. Agents can book Tropic Air in Sabre, Amadeus and in Travelport's Worldspan, Galileo and Apollo.

At this time, cash is the only acceptable form of payment, but the carrier plans to accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express at a later date.

Solomon Airlines Joins ARC

Solomon Airlines (IE/193) will join ARC as a participating carrier effective with sales on July 28, 2014 (PED 08/03/14). Solomon Airlines is the national airline of the Solomon Islands based in Honiara.

Solomon Airlines serves a domestic network of 24 destinations, an international network including Brisbane, Australia; Nadi, Fiji Islands; Port Vila, Vanuatu; Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and other major interline connections throughout the world.

Agents can book tickets via Amadeus and Solomon Airlines offers ARC accredited agents 5% sales commissions on published fares on all tickets validated on Solomon Airlines.

Solomon Airlines has selected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Solomon Airlines, unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Solomon Airlines accepts cash only as a form of payment.

Air Canada – Elimination of Paper Tickets

Air Canada (AC/014) wishes to inform all ARC agents that the airline has decided to stop supporting the issuance of AC/014 paper tickets for air transportation. The decision is effective August 1, 2014, and all GDSs will inhibit paper ticketing on AC/014 documents in ARC. All AC routes are e-ticket eligible, so tickets should be issued as electronic tickets. IslandAir Now Accepts American Express

Effective with sales issued on Monday, July 28, 2014, (PED August 03, 2014) Island Air (347/WP) will begin accepting American Express as a form of payment through ARC.


Singapore Airlines Now Accepts Diners Club Intl

Effective with sales issued on Monday, July 28, 2014, (PED August 03, 2014) Singapore Airlines (618/SQ) will begin accepting Diners Club Intl as a form of payment through ARC.


Qatar Airways Now Accepts Diners Club Intl

Effective with sales issued on Monday, July 28, 2014, (PED August 03, 2014) Qatar Airways (157/QR) will begin accepting Diners Club Intl as a form of payment through ARC.


American Airlines Private Label Card Deactivated

Effective with sales of Monday, July 28 (PED August 3), the American Airlines Private label card (prefix 2001) will no longer be a valid form of payment.


Tip of the Week: My ARC New Release

The latest release of My ARC was implemented on Friday, July 25, 2014. This newest release enables individuals with the roles of Primary Administrators and My ARC/Tool Administrators to include a message to the tool requestor along with the approval or denial response. Adding a message is optional and allows the administrator to request additional information, explain the approval or denial, etc.
