2014 Quarterly Transaction Fees – 2nd Quarter

This is a reminder about the agent/CTD transaction fee that is assessed on a quarterly basis. In 2014, the quarterly fee is set at $.017 per transaction. An agency reporting an aggregate of less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed a transaction fee.

The maximum number of transactions for which an agency can be charged in a quarter is 2.25 million transactions (per entity). A separate debit representing this fee will be drawn against your ARC designated bank account on or after July 24. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.

The Latest Phishing Emails Have Arrived in Your Inbox

ARC has confirmed two types of phishing emails that were sent to agents on July 8, 9 and 16. The fraudster resent previously used phishing email formats you may recognize. One masquerades as Delta and TripCase, and the other one impersonates Delta. Don't be caught off guard by these fraudulent emails. Review the examples below to see signs that the emails are not real.

Show these two examples to everyone who has access to your agency's GDS and have them look in their email to see if they have received one or both of them. If they clicked the links and logged into a GDS (or can't remember if they did), immediately have them change their password.

Tip of the Week: Financial Guarantee Instrument Release

Will you require the release of a financial guarantee instrument?

The minimum release date of the instrument can vary based on several factors. Please see below for guidelines and requirements:

  • Voluntary Deletions:
    • Letter of Credit (LOC): 100 days from the effective date of the voluntary deletion
    • Cash Security Deposit (CSD): 100 days from the effective date of the voluntary deletion
    • Bond: Six months from the effective date of the voluntary deletion
  • Reclassification to a VTC: The same schedule applies for voluntary deletions.
  • Current instrument is replaced by a new instrument:
    • LOC: Immediate release if replaced by CSD or LOC, or 100 days from the effective date of a new bond
    • CSD: Immediate release if replaced by CSD or LOC, or 100 days from the effective date of a new bond
    • Bond: Immediate release if replaced by CSD or LOC, or six months from the effective date of the new bond

ARC will not return a financial guarantee instrument until we receive a written request from the agency. The request must be signed by an authorized owner or officer of the company. Requests for the return of a CSD must be notarized and signed by the person who authorized the CSD application.
