Maya Island Air Joins ARC

Maya Island Air (MY/391) has joined ARC effective with sales on Monday, September 30 (PED October 6, 2013). Maya Island Air was founded in 1961 with its headquarters in Belize City, Belize. It operates regular scheduled services to 12 destinations: Belize City Municipal (TZA), Belize International Airport (BZE), San Pedro Town (SPR), Caye Caulker (CUK), Corozal (CZH), Orange Walk (ORZ), Dangriga (Hopkins) (DGA), Placencia (PLJ), Savannah (SAV), Punta Gorda (PGD), Belmopan (BCV) and Center Farm (Cayo) (CCC).

Maya Island Air has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment, whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Maya Island Air unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. Maya Island Air is offering 5% sales commissions on published fares to ARC accredited agents on tickets issued on their stock (MY/391).

Best Practices for Voiding Electronic Ticket Exchange Transactions

When voiding electronic ticket (ET) exchange transactions, you should always void the transaction through your GDS. If you are unable to void the transaction in your GDS or the void was not received in IAR from the GDS, you have the option to void it in IAR as an alternative.

When voiding in IAR, you must obtain a valid Electronic Settlement Authorization Code (ESAC). This code signifies that you have the proper authorization to void the ET exchange transaction. The ESAC can be obtained through your GDS or by contacting the validating carrier. Not receiving a valid ESAC may result in the issuance of a debit memo from the carrier.

When a void of an ET exchange is performed in your GDS, not only should you verify the transaction is in IAR, you should also verify the ESAC has been sent. The ESAC can be found in the ESAC field on the IAR Exchange Support screen.

Tip of the Week: Options for the Financial Guarantee Instrument

Did you know there are three options for the financial guarantee instrument, required of all fully accredited ARC agencies? A bond, irrevocable letter of credit and ARC Cash Security Deposit are all acceptable surety instruments. Bonds and letters of credit need to be renewed on an annual basis; the cash deposit never needs to be renewed.
