Porter Airlines Joins ARC

Porter Airlines (PD/451) has joined ARC as a participating carrier effective with sales on April 8 (PED April 14, 2013). Porter is based at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) and provides complimentary airport lounge access and in-flight service to all passengers.

The airline currently offers regional flights to Toronto, New York (Newark), Chicago (Midway), Boston, Washington (Dulles), Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Moncton, Halifax, St. John's, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Timmins, Windsor, and has seasonal flights to Mt. Tremblant, Que., Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Burlington, Vt.

Porter has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment, whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Porter unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Porter accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and cash as valid forms of payment.

Until further notice, commission payment for e-tickets on Porter will continue to be paid directly to the agency on flown volume and not at point-of-sale (POS) via ARC.

ARC Suspends Processing of Aerosvit Transactions

ARC has learned that Aerosvit (870/VV) ceased operations and will therefore inhibit the processing of sales transactions in IAR effective today, April 8. Refunds for American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB and cash transactions will continue to be processed until Monday, April 15 (PED April 21, 2013) or until otherwise notified.

2013 Quarterly Transaction Fees - First Quarter

This is a reminder about the agent/CTD transaction fee that is assessed on a quarterly basis. In 2013, the quarterly fee is set at $.016 per transaction. An agency reporting an aggregate of less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed a transaction fee. The maximum number of transactions for which an agency can be charged in a quarter is 2.25 million transactions (per entity). A separate debit representing this fee will be drawn against your ARC designated bank account on or after April 25. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.

Quarterly Subscription Fee: Travel Agency Service Fees

Just a reminder that the first $23.99 quarterly subscription fee of 2013 (January 1-March 31, 2013) for travel agency service fees will be debited from your designated ARC account on or after Thursday, April 18.

Only locations that issued a travel agency service fee in the previous quarter will be charged the fee. If your agency is signed up for the travel agency service fee service but remained inactive during the quarter, there will be no quarterly fee charged.

ARC Launches Memo Manager 3.4, Release 1

We are pleased to announce a few new updates to Memo Manager, including:

  • Adding the date a GDS was granted access to a memo to both the Memo Details screen and the Print Details function.
  • Adding the ability to search by last modified date.

ARC Specialist Training and Exam at Sabre's Travel Technology Exchange (TTX) Conference

Want to earn or renew your ARC Specialist Certificate? Join us April 29-May 1 at Sabre's TTX Conference. You can renew your ARC Specialist Certificate for the discounted rate of $300!

ARC developed the ARC Specialist Program with the help of industry representatives from the travel agency and carrier communities. This program provides education on ARC's policies, procedures, products, and services. Students participate in written and verbal exercises in addition to group discussions.

A certificate of training will be presented at the end of the session.
