ARC Thanksgiving Holiday Information

  • Sales Report Submission
    ARC's offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Agencies and CTDs will not have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED November 25, 2012. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
  • Ticket Modification/Voiding Schedule
    Please note that the GDS/IAR void date for transactions issued Wednesday, Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 25 is Monday, Nov. 26.
  • Emergency Document Orders During the Thanksgiving Holiday
    Emergency orders placed Wednesday, Nov. 21 before 4 p.m. EST will ship the same day and arrive on Monday, Nov. 26. Second day orders placed on Wednesday, Nov. 21 before 4 p.m. EST will arrive Tuesday, Nov. 27. Please place your document order early to avoid delays. Xiamen Airlines Joins ARC

Xiamen Airline (MF/731) has joined ARC as a participating carrier effective with sales on November 12th, 2012 (PED 11/18/2012).

Xiamen Airlines (MF) was established on July 25, 1984, and operates scheduled passenger flights out of its main hubs of Xiamen (XMN), Fuzhou (FOC), and Hangzhou (HGH). The airline serves 55 destinations throughout Greater China as well as main cities in Southeast and Northeast Asia. Xiamen Airlines currently operates a fleet of 17 Boeing 737-700s, 63 Boeing 737-800s, 6 Boeing 757-200s, and by end of 2015, will expand to 136 Boeing jets that will consist mainly of 737NG and B787.

Xiamen will officially become a member of the SKYTEAM Alliance effective November 21, 2012; at that time, full scale SkyTeam customer benefits will be available to passengers. Xiamen Airlines is offering 3% sales commission on published fares to ARC accredited agents on all tickets issued on their stock.

Xiamen Airlines has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Xiamen Airlines unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Xiamen Airlines accepts cash as the only form of payment.

Seaborne Airlines Accepts American Express

Effective with sales issued on Monday, November 12 (PED November 18, 2012) Seaborne Airlines (376/BB) will begin accepting American Express as a form of payment through ARC.

Coming Soon: Your New ARC Accreditation Tool

We are very pleased to announce the upcoming launch of our new Accreditation Tool, scheduled for December 13, 2012. Accessible through My ARC, this new tool will enable you to electronically submit the information required to do business with ARC, over time replacing the current process of downloading and mailing in forms. Additional self-service capabilities will include viewing the status of your submissions, messaging ARC within the records, electronically attaching documents, viewing forms submitted for the past 39 months, and so much more!

Your Primary Administrator will be able to provide immediate authorization and access to the Accreditation Tool. If you are authorized, the Accreditation Tool will be displayed in your My ARC toolbox upon logging in. The updated Agent Reporting Agreement (ARA) contains a proposed Section B to take effect this December. The proposed Section B states that an individual which has been granted access to an ARC Tool (e.g. Accreditation Tool) will be authorized directly by the agent, and any requests submitted through the Accreditation Tool will have the same force and effect as if they were submitted and/or signed (where applicable) directly by an owner or officer of the agent. Individuals with these operational responsibilities are strongly urged to register and attend the webinar.

Tip of the Week: IAR Auto-Populating Partial Exchanges

Although IAR stores the value of all settled tickets, it does not know the value of each coupon. This means that partial exchanges not issued using a GDS automatic re-pricing tool require agents to enter the unused old base fare, tax breakdown and the old total in IAR. Here's a tip that will prompt IAR to populate the tax breakout entries on partial exchanges for you.

On the Exchange Support page, enter the full total amount of the original sale in the Old Total box (third field down in the left column).

Click the Next button (to the right of the ET button). IAR will populate the old fare and tax breakdown for you. You can then modify those values and taxes as needed, input the valid ESAC code and penalty amount (if applicable), and click the Next button.

If the unused partial exchange value is less than the full old original value, you can enter a lesser amount in the Old Total field and IAR will populate all of the original tax codes from the original sale. You can then enter the appropriate unused fare and tax amounts.

If anything has been typed in any field other than the old total box, IAR might be unable to auto-fill the tax breakdown for you. If so, remove and re-attach the old document on the Financial Details page, and then enter the old total amount in the Old Total box and click Next. IAR should complete the tax breakdown and auto-fill process as described above.
