Final Deletion of Malev Hungarian Airlines

ARC recently provided the opportunity for agents to submit cash refunds in IAR for Malev Hungarian Airlines (MA/82) until cash reserves were exhausted. Many cash refunds were processed, and we hope this action provided assistance to the agency community.

The window for processing Malev Hungarian Airlines refund transactions in IAR will be closed effective Monday, March 26 (PED April 1, 2012).

United Airlines Implements ARC Memo Manager

United Airlines (UA/016) implemented ARC Memo Manager (AMM) on March 16, 2012. All United Airlines memos will now be distributed electronically through AMM.

Paper delivery of debit memos ended upon implementation of AMM. In addition, United Airlines uploaded a limited number of s-UA memos issued prior to March 16. If you have any questions concerning these memos, please contact United Airlines at debitmemos@united.com.

Tip of the Week: Credit Card Chargeback Policy

The purpose of the credit card chargeback policy is to provide travel agents with the information they need to relieve themselves of liability from fraud-related credit card chargebacks. Remember, always:

  • Follow the instructions and procedures in Section 8 of the ARC Industry Agents' Handbook (IAH).
  • Validate the credit card expiration date and effective date.
  • Obtain an approval code from the credit card company.

Following proper procedures for all credit card sales will offer the best protection in the event of a credit card chargeback. For additional information, refer to Section 8.4 of the IAH - Credit Card Acceptance and Chargeback Information here.
