Southwest Airlines Announces Expanded Agency Support

As you know, Southwest Airlines acquired AirTran Holdings, Inc., the former parent company of AirTran Airways and began integration of AirTran into the Southwest Airlines brand. As Southwest Airlines works through the various phases of integration, they want to keep their valuable travel agency partners informed of any changes and provide as much information as possible.

Tip of the Week - Credit Card Chargeback Policy

The purpose of the credit card chargeback policy is to provide travel agents with the information they need to relieve themselves of liability from fraud-related credit card chargebacks.

The key points to remember:

  • Follow the instructions and procedures contained in Section 8 of the Industry Agents' Handbook.
  • Validate the credit card expiration date and effective date.
  • Obtain an approval code.

Following proper procedures for all credit card sales will offer the best protection in the event of a credit card chargeback.
