ARC Launches ARC Memo Manager 3.2

On Thursday, June 23, ARC Memo Manager 3.2 was released. This new version is aimed at improving the user experience. Changes include advanced pagination, which allows for better management of memos within each tab, and the ability to select multiple memos across pages within a single tab. Additionally, Memo Manager now has no time limit for uploading attachments and no time stamp on date searches.

Caribbean Airlines Announces Retirement of the Air Jamaica Carrier Code (JM/201)

In order to ensure a smooth transition for agents and their customers with respect to the retirement of Air Jamaica's carrier code (JM/201), please use the following guidelines:

  • Sales - Effective Friday, July 1, 2011, Air Jamaica validated sales will be inhibited. New sales should be validated on Caribbean Airlines (BW/106).
  • Refunds - Until further notice, Caribbean Airlines will support the continued processing of Air Jamaica refunds to include cash and credit card transactions.
  • Exchanges - Until further notice, Caribbean Airlines will allow for the cross exchange of unused Air Jamaica validated coupons, for a new Caribbean Airlines ticket.
  • Final Deletion of Air Jamaica Code - The final code deletion will take place on December 26, 2011.

OpenSkies Moved to British Airways (BA/125) Ticketing Platform Effective June 14, 2011

OpenSkies Airlines (EC/284) notified ARC that in order to simplify the ticketing process and to overall better serve their customers' needs, they moved the OpenSkies ticketing platform to the British Airways (BA/125) platform effective June 14, 2011.

Therefore, ARC updated IAR as follows:

  • Sales Transactions - OpenSkies sales transactions are now inhibited in IAR. OpenSkies flights must be validated on British Airways. Any OpenSkies tickets issued prior to June 14 (for travel after that date), will be accepted for travel.
  • Exchange Transactions - Exchanges and reissues of OpenSkies transactions are inhibited in IAR. Please contact the OpenSkies call center as indicated below.
  • Refund Transactions & Memos - Refunds (subject to carrier rules) and Memos will continue to be processed until further notice.

2011 Quarterly Transaction Fees 2nd Quarter

This is a reminder that the agent or CTD transaction fee is assessed on a quarterly basis. In 2011, the quarterly fee is set at $.017 (1 and 7/10ths of a cent) per transaction. Agencies reporting an aggregate of less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed transaction fees. The maximum number of transactions for which an agency can be charged in a quarter is 2.25 million transactions per entity. A separate debit representing this fee will be drawn on or after July 21, 2011, against your ARC designated bank account. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.


Important Independence Day Information

In observance of Independence Day ARC's offices will be closed on Monday, July 4, resulting in the following schedule changes:

Sales Report Submissions Extended to Midnight, July 6
Agencies and CTDs will have an extra day to prepare sales reports for PED 7/3/11. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight, Wednesday, July 6.

  • Ticket Modification/Voiding Schedule
    Please note the following extension dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Friday, July 1 - Sunday, July 3. The GDS/IAR void extension date is Tuesday, July 5.
  • Customer Care Center Hours
    Tuesday, July 5 - Wednesday, July 6: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern
    Thursday, July 7 - Friday, July 8: 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern
  • Placing Emergency Document Requisitions Orders Before Independence Day Holiday
    Your emergency order should be placed in advance of the 4:00 p.m. cut-off on Thursday, June 30 to ensure that it is received before Tuesday, July 5. Any emergency orders placed on Friday, July 1 will not be delivered until Tuesday, July 5. Please order your stock accordingly.

Tip of the Week - Granting IAR Access to Users in My ARC

Don't forget that when you grant IAR tool access in My ARC the user will at that point have View Only status in IAR. The IAR Administrator needs to then go into IAR and assign the user a User Role and User Group.

To do this, in IAR the Administrator must click on the Administrations tab and then select the profile to edit.

Once in the User Profile, select a User Role from the drop-down menu, select a User Group from the Available Groups column, move it to the Selected Groups column, and click the Submit button.
