CCV2, CVC2 and CID Code Security

CVV2, CVC2 or CID codes are the 3 or 4 digit numbers on the back of most credit cards (and located on the front of American Express cards). The use of these codes is supported by the GDSs at the time of authorization as a way to determine if a cardholder has the card in their possession.

The credit card companies require that CVV2, CVC2, or CID codes are never written down, recorded or stored, on paper or electronically. Parties found storing these codes are subject to penalties.

Best Practices for Travel Agents with IAR Reporting

Do you have a back-up plan in place with respect to IAR Reporting? Did you know you can access your IAR Report from any PC that is internet accessible?

In the event of a weather event or some other circumstance that may cause you not to be able to make it into your agency, make sure you have a back-up plan to ensure you can still get your report submitted whether there is inclement weather, you're on vacation or just unable to make it into your office.

When creating your back-up plan, here are some things to consider:

  • You can submit your IAR report from any computer that is internet accessible
  • All of ARC's tools are accessible via the internet
  • Have a back-up person in place that is capable of doing the IAR report
  • It is recommended that each user have their own IAR and DRS log-in
  • If you have personnel changes, don't forget to update your My ARC, DRS and Memo Manager administration especially when it involves the Primary Administrators and Security Manager
  • If you are traveling, don't forget any time differences between your destination and ARC. The IAR report is due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesdays.

And please remember you have the support of ARC's Customer Care Center to assist you with any reporting-related issues, even if you are submitting your report from an offsite location.

The Customer Care Center may be reached at 703.816.8003 or ccchelp@arccorp.com. The Customer Care Center hours are:

Monday & Tuesday 9:00am - 9:00pm ET
Wednesday thru Friday 9:00am - 7:30pm ET

Tip of the Week: BOS Download History

Want to check on the status of your BOS download?

The BOS File Download History screen shows the user a history of BOS files that have been created, the date and time of download, the status of the download, the user who requested the file and any comments related to the file. To view the BOS File Download History, at the IAR Home Page screen:

  • Click the global BOS header; the default Create BOS Internet File screen will display.
  • Next, click the Download BOS File tab and the Download BOS Internet File screen displays.
  • The results will show requested file names and times, with the file status located in the Status column.

Please remember that after the file shows requested, the history results are being created. All relevant BOS file results will be loading until completed.

Please distribute the ARC TAC among staff and colleagues.
