LTU Prepares for Deletion from ARC

As a result of the Air Berlin/LTU acquisition, Air Berlin is requesting that agents follow the following ticketing/refund procedures:

  • New sales and exchange transactions validated on LT/266 will be discontinued on Monday, January 4, 2010 (last day of any modification in IAR is Sunday,January 3, 2010)
  • New sales and exchange transactions, including those airlines belonging to the Air Berlin Group (namely Air Berlin/AB, LTU/LT and NIKI/HG), should now be validated on Air Berlin (AB/745).
  • As an added convenience, Air Berlin will allow for the continued processing of refunds and memos on LT/266 until Monday, March 22, 2010 (last day of any modifications in IAR will be Sunday, March 21, 2010).

ARC Suspends Air Comet

ARC has learned that Air Comet (A7/352) suspended operations on December 22, 2009. Accordingly, ARC will suspend its Agreement with the carrier effective December 23, 2009, but will continue to process Air Comet transactions until further notice.

ARC New Year's Holiday Information

Sales Report Submission

ARC's offices will be closed on Friday, January 1, 2010, in observance of the New Year's Holiday. Agencies and Corporate Travel Departments will not have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 01/03/10. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight, Tuesday, January 5 EST.

Ticket Modification/Voiding Schedule

Please note the following dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Thursday, December 31, 2009:

Emergency Document Orders During the New Year's Holiday

In observance of the New Year's Day, ARC will be closed, Friday, January 1, 2010. To ensure that your order is processed in time for delivery your order should be placed in advance of our 4:00 pm cut off.

Orders placed Wednesday, December 30:

Next Day Delivery - your order will be delivered on Thursday, December 31st
2nd Day Delivery- your order will be delivered on Monday, January 4, 2010

Orders placed on Thursday, December 31, and Friday, January 1st 2010:

Will not be processed until Monday, January 4, 2010
Will follow the normal delivery schedule

2010 Annual Agency Fee & Quarterly Transaction Fee

The 2010 annual agency fee of $175.00 will be collected by an electronic draft drawn against your bank account. The agency fee draft will be presented for payment on or after January 21, 2010, and will appear on your bank statement as ARC Core Participation Fee. A separate $175.00 draft will be issued for each active agency and STP location of record as of January 10, 2010, and will be drawn against the bank account you have designated for that particular office. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.

Quarterly Transaction Fees

The transaction fee is assessed quarterly. For the fourth quarter 2009, the fee is $.019 (1 and 9/10ths of a cent). Agencies reporting an aggregate of less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed transaction fees. The maximum number of transactions for which an agency can be charged in a quarter is 1.875 million transactions per entity. A separate debit representing the fee will be drawn on or after January 21, 2010 against the account designated by your agency. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.

Note: The per-transaction fee for 2010 will increase from $.019 (1 and 9/10ths of a cent) to $.020 (2 cents) per transaction. The transaction maximum will increase from 1.875 million to 2.0 million. There will be no change to the 1,000 transaction minimum. The new fee will be effective beginning with the first quarter of 2010 which will be billed on or after April 22, 2010.

Tip of the Week: Editing the Tools List in My ARC

Don't like the order of the tools in the My ARC Toolbox or is it cluttered with tools you don't use?

The My ARC Edit Tool List feature gives you the ability to customize your tool listing. To customize your tools list, at the My ARC Toolbox:

  1. Click the Edit link located in the upper right-hand corner of Tool box.
  2. Once selected, the Edit List screen displays.
  3. Remove a tool from the user's Tools box and "hide" it in the Other Available Tools box by selecting the tool and then clicking the Remove button.
  4. Place a tool back in the user's Tools box by selecting the tool and then clicking the Add button.
  5. Change the order of tools in the Tools box by selecting a tool in the Other Available Tools box and then clicking on the Move Up button or Move Down button.
  6. Click the Save button to save any changes and return to the screen from which the Edit List screen was accessed.
  7. Click the Cancel button to cancel any edits and return to the screen from which the Edit List screen was accessed

Note: When a tool is selected, a description of the tool displays in the Tool Description textbox.
