2009 Quarterly Transaction Fees - 3rd Quarter

The transaction fee is assessed quarterly. In 2009, the fee is $.019 (1 and 9/10ths of a cent). Agencies reporting an aggregate of less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed transaction fees. The maximum number of transactions for which an agency can be charged in a quarter is 1.875 million transactions per entity. A separate debit representing the fee will be drawn on or after October 22, 2009, against the account designated by your agency. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.

ARC Welcomes Olympic Air to ARC

As announced last Friday, Olympic Air (OA/050) has joined ARC effective Monday, September 28th at midnight (PED 10/04/09).

With headquarters in Athens, Greece, Olympic Air offers service to Amsterdam, Bucharest, Brussels, London, Milan, Paris, Sofia, Vienna and Larnaca, Cyprus, along with 20 cities within Greece. (OA also anticipates Government approval for servicing to/from TIA/IST/BEG/CAI/ALY/BEY and 14 additional Greek Public Service Order routes). OA will launch code-share flights as a Marketing Carrier between ATH and JFK, beginning October 4th, 2009, on DL's aircraft. Additional code-share destinations in cooperation with DL will be announced shortly.

Olympic Air operates a fleet of 32 aircraft, including 16 Airbus A319 and A320s, 10 Q400s, 5 Dash-8s & 1 ATR-42.

Olympic Air has selected the General Concurrence method of appointment whereby all agents are automatically appointed as agents of Olympic Air. At this time, Olympic Air accepts cash only as a valid form of payment through ARC, but anticipates adding Master Card, VISA, and AMEX as valid forms of payment in the very near future.

Air Mali Joins ARC

SN Air Mali (I5/261) has joined ARC as a participating carrier, effective with sales on September 28, 2009 (PED 10/04/09). In operation since 2005, Air Mali is part of the Celestair Group of airlines.

With headquarters in Bamako, Republic of Mali, Air Mali operates domestic scheduled flights from its hub at Senou International Airport (BKO) in Bamako to Kayes, Mopti and Timbuktu. West African destinations include Abidjan, Dakar, Conakry, Cotonou, Lome, Ouagadougou and Douala; Central African destinations include Naimey, Brazzaville, Accra and Libreville. Air Mali also operates four weekly flights from Bamako to Paris, France (ORY).

Air Mali operates MD-87 and Saab 340A aircraft, and is displayed in Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre. Air Mali is offering a 5% sales commission on published fares to ARC-accredited agents.

Air Mali has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Air Mali unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Air Mali accepts cash as the only valid form of payment through ARC.

ARC Suspends Processing of MAT Macedonian Airlines

ARC has learned that MAT Macedonian Airlines (IN/367) has suspended operations. Accordingly, ARC is suspending its Agreement with the carrier and will cease processing all IN-validated transactions effective September 28, 2009 (PED 10/04/09).

IN-validated transactions submitted in sales reports for PED 10/04/09 and thereafter will be returned unprocessed. Travel professionals still holding IN-validated transactions subject to remittance or refund after September 27 are asked to contact the carrier directly at:

Cayman Airways No Longer Accepts Diners Club International

Effective with sales of September 28, 2009 (PED 10/04/09), Cayman Airways (KX/378) no longer accepts Diners Club International as a valid form of payment through ARC.

Tip of the Week: Saving Searches in Memo Manager

This function allows you to save a search that you use frequently. To save a filter:

At the Memo Manager - Search screen,

  • Create a search by entering the criteria you would like to search in the text boxes of the search screen
  • Click the Save Search button.
  • Once selected, the Search Save Filter screen displays.
  • Type a priority in the Priority textbox.
  • Type a description in the Description textbox.
  • Click the Submit button.
  • Once selected, you will see a confirmation that the filter was saved. A link is created on the Home page in the Saved Searches section for future use.
  • Click the Cancel button to cancel the save and return to the Memo Manager - Search screen.
