2009 Quarterly Transaction Fees - 2nd Quarter

The transaction fee is assessed quarterly. In 2009, the fee is $.019 (1 and 9/10ths of a cent). Agencies reporting an aggregate of less than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed transaction fees. The maximum number of transactions for which an agency can be charged in a quarter is 1.875 million transactions per entity. A separate debit representing the fee will be drawn on or after July 23, 2009, against the account designated by your agency. Only one draft will be issued for consolidated drafting agents.


ARC Memo Manager Update

British Airways has announced that they will begin using ARC Memo Manager for Debit and Credit Memos effective July 1, 2009. When they implement, all memos will be distributed electronically through ARC Memo Manager and they will not be mailing any memo issued after July 1, 2009. Afriqiyah Airways Joins ARC - Correction

Afriqiyah Airways (8U/546) has joined ARC as a participating carrier, effective with sales on June 22, 2009 (PED 06/28/09).

With headquarters in Tripoli, Libya, Afriqiyah Airways operates scheduled domestic flights between Tripoli and Benghazi. From its hub at Tripoli International Airport it operates regional flights to over 13 other destinations in South, North, Central and West Africa, along with Dubai in the UAE and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, as well as service to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Geneva, Rome and Dusseldorf.

The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A300, A319, A320 and A330 aircraft, and is displayed in Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan.

Afriqiyah Airways is offering 5% sales commission on published fares to ARC-accredited agents, on all tickets issued on their stock (8U/546).

Afriqiyah Airways has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC-accredited agencies and corporate travel departments are automatically appointed as agents of Afriqiyah Airways unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Afriqiyah Airways accepts cash as the only form of payment through ARC.

Independence Day Holiday Information

Sales Report Submission

ARC's offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2009, in observation of Independence Day. Agencies and CTDs will not have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 07/05/09. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight Tuesday, July 7.

Ticket Void Schedule

Please note the following dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Thursday, July 2:

  • GDS Void Date/IAR Reconciliation - Monday, July 6

Placing Emergency Document Requisitions Orders Before the Independence Day Holiday

Please be advised that ARC will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2009, in observance of Independence Day. Emergency orders placed Thursday, July 2 before 4:00 PM EST will be delivered Monday, July 6 due to UPS scheduling.

Effective with sales issued on June 29, 2009 (PED 07/05/09), Cathay Pacific (CX/160) now accepts Diners Club Intl as a valid form of payment through ARC.


Air Namibia Now Accepts American Express

Effective with sales issued on June 29, 2009 (PED 07/05/09), Air Namibia (SW/186) now accepts American Express as a form of payment through ARC.
