Afriqiyah Airways Joins ARC

Afriqiyah Airways (8U/546) has joined ARC as a participating carrier, effective with sales on June 22, 2009 (PED 06/28/09).

With headquarters in Tripoli, Libya, Afriqiyah Airways operates scheduled domestic flights between Tripoli and Benghazi. From its hub at Tripoli International Airport it operates regional flights to over 13 other destinations in South, North, Central and West Africa, along with Dubai in the UAE and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, as well as service to London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Geneva, Rome and Dusseldorf.

The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A300, A319, A320 and A330 aircraft, and is displayed in Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan.

Afriqiyah Airways is offering 5% sales commission on published fares to ARC-accredited agents, on all tickets issued on their stock (8U/546).

Afriqiyah Airways has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC-accredited agencies and corporate travel departments are automatically appointed as agents of Afriqiyah Airways unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Afriqiyah Airways accepts cash as the only form of payment through ARC.

Independence Day Holiday Information - July 3, 2009

Sales Report Submission

ARC's offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2009, in observation of Independence Day. Agencies and CTDs will not have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 07/05/09. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight Tuesday, July 7.

Ticket Void Schedule

Please note the following dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Thursday, July 2:

GDS Void Date/IAR Reconciliation - Monday, July 6

ARC will be open and operating Monday, July 6 with the normal Customer Care Center hours of 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Eastern. If you have any questions, please contact the Center at 703.816.8003.


Cathay Pacific No Longer Accepts Diners Club Intl

Effective with sales of June 22, 2009 (PED 06/28/09), Cathay Pacific (CX/160) no longer accepts Diners Club Intl as a valid form of payment through ARC.


Air One/Alitalia Correction

As previously announced, due to the integration of Alitalia (055/AZ) and Air One (867/AP), Air One will voluntarily delete from ARC effective Monday, June 22, 2009. (The item should not have stated "PED 06/28/09").


Tip of the Week: Searching in Memo Manager

The search function of ARC Memo Manager allows you to search for specific information or data by typing keywords into a search engine. Users are able to search using a wildcard in fields marked with a ♠ symbol. In addition, Memo Manager allows you to save your search parameters to use again in the future. To search for specific memo information:

At the ARC Memo Manager default landing page, click the Advanced Search link. Once selected, the Memo Manager - Search screen displays.

Type one or more values to search by various criteria:

  • Select the Memo Status you wish to search for using the drop down box.
  • Type the 3-digit carrier code in the Carrier# textbox. You can also type 2 digits and an * for a wildcard search. Or, you can search by Carrier name by typing the carrier name in the carrier name text field. The carrier name field is also wild card searchable.

Now select the Memo Type you wish to search for using the drop down box.

  • Type the ARC# in the Agency# textbox. To search for memos at a home office location and all branches, select the entire organization checkbox in addition to entering the ARC#. You may also perform a wildcard search in this field by entering the first 2 digits and an *. Or, you can search by Agency name by typing the agency name in the agency name text field. The agency name field is also wild card searchable.
  • Click the Search button.
  • Once selected, the search results displays
  • Click the Reset button to clear the input fields.
  • Click the Save Search button to save the search parameters for future use.

Note: Not all search criteria need to be selected to complete a search but the more criteria used will narrow the scope of the search and bring back fewer results.
