ARC Generated (Automated) Refunds

On April 2, 2009 (PED 04/05/09), IAR will be enhanced to address the occasional issue of unapplied/dropped voids. An unapplied or dropped void is a GDS void that is received by IAR after its corresponding sales transaction has been processed and extracted to the carrier. As a result, an agent's effort to void the transaction cannot be applied. The main reasons for this occurrence are due to one or more of the following "timing" issues:

  1. The local time where an agency is located
  2. The "pseudo city" time zone an agent uses to void a transaction
  3. The local time zone of the GDS Data center
  4. The GDS cutoff time for outputting transactions on daily SPRF files (data files from the GDSs) sent to ARC
  5. The receipt of SPRF files by ARC

To alleviate this issue, when an unapplied void is received, IAR will automatically create a refund. The refund will display in IAR and will output to the validating carrier. In IAR, the Refund Details screen will display "ARC created document" to indicate the refund was generated by ARC as a result of an unapplied void.

ARC Transaction History File Now Available for 2006

ARC's latest Transaction History File is now available on CD. This file provides you with your settled and voided transaction information for all PEDs in 2006. It comes equipped with FREE viewer software that allows you to easily search for a specific transaction, view it on screen, and print it onto a single page. Plus, the software is self-contained - there is nothing to install.

You can import the Transaction History text file into several popular software programs, such as Microsoft® Excel and Access, in order to create reports, manage, sort, and analyze the data as you please.

Tip of the Week: Exporting Memos in Memo Manager

I've been trying to Export my memos and it doesn't work! You may need to check the security settings of your browser. If you are using IE, go to Tools then Internet Options. On the Security tab be sure that the Internet icon is selected and choose Custom Level. Scroll down to the Downloads section, under Automatic Prompting for file downloads, and check the radio button to Enable. Next, scroll down to the Miscellaneous section under Display mixed content, and again check the radio button to Enable. Another tip is to hold the Ctrl key down while initiating the export.
