The following is a summary of ARC fees for 2009 as reviewed by the Joint Advisory Board - Agent Reporting Agreement (Agent, CTD, and carrier advisory group) and the Fees and Charges Working Group (sub-committee to the JAB-ARA) and approved by the ARC Board of Directors:
Return Draft Fee
ARC assesses a returned draft fee when an agency's bank draft does not clear for the weekly Wednesday disbursement.
The fee for the first & second instance of a returned draft will increase from $39 in 2008 to $47 in 2009. For each subsequent instance the fee will increase from $72 to $88.
Ticket Resolution Fees
ARC's ticket resolution function primarily identifies unreported sales and credit card chargebacks and resolves the transaction between the carrier and the travel agent.
The ticket resolution fee will increase from $34 in 2008 to $43 in 2009.
Late Reporting Fee
The Late Reporting Fee is assessed to travel agents that do not submit their ARC report in a timely manner.
The late reporting fee remains unchanged from 2008 and continues at the same rate of $30 throughout 2009.
Document Ordering Fees
Document Ordering Fees are charges related to the procurement, shipment, and other services related to agent ticket stock orders.
ARC evaluated our Document Usage Fee of $20 in the 3rd quarter of 2008. Due to a recent change in pricing from our document supplier and significant carrier increase in ET usage in 2008, ARC increased the document usage fee from $20.00 to $28.30 effective November 1, 2008. There will be no change to the handling fee at this time. ARC evaluates the document usage fee semi-annually in the first and 3rd quarters of each year.
Agent Annual Fee
The location fee will be $160 and the transaction fee is increased to $0.019 for 2009. Transaction fees are charged only to those locations with 1,000 or more transactions during a quarter.
Effective with sales of January 12, 2009 (PED 01/18/09), Eurofly S.P.A. (GJ/736) accepts UATP as a form of payment through ARC.

In the current electronic environment, travel agents often operate in a non face-to-face environment. There is always risk that a transaction could be misrepresented, fraudulent and/or result in a chargeback. This guide was designed to provide information about credit card acceptance tools available to assist travel agents in evaluating the level of risk so decisions can be made about which transactions to accept.

Sales Report Submission
ARC's offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 20 for Inauguration Day. Agencies and Corporate Travel Departments will have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 1/18/09. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight, Wednesday, January 21.

Training classes for ARC MarketPlace - which will also include information about additional revenue-generating opportunities - are being offered this fall. Each free one-hour interactive training class will be conducted online with audio conferencing through Microsoft Live Meeting. Classes will be led by an ARC instructor and participants can ask questions while viewing and following the instructor's presentation.
Class dates are scheduled to be held once a month through 2009.
