2008 Annual Agency Fee & Quarterly Transaction Fees - UPDATE

2008 Annual Agency Fee to be Recalculated and Bank Account Draft of Quarterly Transaction Fees to be Delayed

On Thursday, July 17, the Independent Arbitration Panel (IAP) ruled against ARC's proposals in regard to the 2008 annual location fee and the quarterly transaction fee originally announced by ARC in December 2007.

As a result of the IAP decision, ARC will:

  • Delay the previously scheduled July 24, 2008 collection of quarterly transaction fees until further notice (ARC anticipates an August 14 draft date for the quarterly fee);
  • Recalculate the 2008 annual and transactional fee structure based on the formula used for the 2007 fees, and share these with both the Fees and Charges Working Group and the JAB-ARA;
  • Announce the final 2008 annual and transactional fee structure once these calculations are made, and
  • Adjust agency collections as necessary.

In addition, ARC is reinstating certain miscellaneous fees for items such as applications for bank account changes, training, changes of ownership and relocations.

Tip of the Week: IAR Administrative Coverage

Having more than one IAR Administrator in your organization can decrease reporting issues that can arise when your sole IAR Administrator is unavailable. If you have multiple agents within your office, it is recommended that you add at least one additional IAR Administrator to serve as backup. The primary role of an IAR Administrator is to manage IAR user accounts. This includes:

  • Creating additional user accounts
  • Modifying a user account
  • Deleting a user account
  • Defining a user's role
  • Resetting a user's password

When a sole IAR Administrator is unavailable, user management functions cannot be performed. This may potentially impact sales reporting and may result in needless debit memos and/or unreported sales.

To learn how to assign a user an IAR Administrator role, please refer to www.arccorp.com/webhelp/iar/ (IAR Online Help) or contact the ARC Customer Support Center at 703.816.8003 or csc@arccorp.com.

Please distribute the ARC TAC among staff and colleagues.
