2008 Annual Agency Fee

The 2008 annual agency fee will be collected by electronic draft(s) drawn against your bank account. The agency fee draft will be presented for payment on or after January 24, 2008. A separate draft will be issued for each active agency and STP location of record as of January 13, 2008, and will be drawn against the bank account you have designated for that particular office. For ARC accredited Independent Entities without associated Branch or STP locations, the second draft will be for each active agency of record as of July 13, 2008.

The Annual Agency Fee Drafting Schedule

ARC accredited Independent Entities without associated Branch or STP locations:

  • January 24, 2008 $150.00
  • July 24, 2008 $245.00

ARC Accredited Home Office Entities with Branch and STP locations:

  • January 24, 2008 $395.00 (Home Office Location)
  • January 24, 2008 $150.00 (Branch Office and STP Locations)

2008 Quarterly Transaction Fees

The per-transaction fee is assessed quarterly. In 2008, it will be $0.020 per transaction. The maximum number of transactions for which an agency will be charged will be 1.875 million per entity per quarter. NOTE: Agencies reporting an aggregate of fewer than 1,000 transactions per quarter will not be assessed transaction fees.

Agencies will receive debit, credit or recall commission memos via Memo Manager from carriers who have subscribed to and implemented Memo Manager. Agents using ARC MarketPlace receive their commission payments through Memo Manager. By registering now, you won't miss any of these memos and can reduce your time and costs associated with memo correspondence.

ARC Memo Manager - Carrier Update

Delta Air Lines has announced that they will begin using ARC Memo Manager within the next 90 days in Q1 2008. When they implement, all memos will be distributed electronically through ARC Memo Manager. Delta has also announced that they will charge a $20 paper debit memo fee to recover the cost of paper and distribution. For additional details on Delta's policy, please visit their website.

ARC has signed additional carriers to Memo Manager, including Northwest Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa and Japan Airlines. Please refer to www.arccorp.com for a complete list of subscribing carriers.


Varig Airlines No Longer Accepts Discover & JCB

Effective January 14, 2008 (PED 01/20/08), Varig Airlines (042/RG) no longer accepts Discover and JCB as forms of payment through ARC.


Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Information - January 21, 2008

Sales Report Submission:
ARC's offices will be open on Monday, January 21, 2008, for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

Agencies and CTDs will not have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 01/20/08.

Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight Tuesday, January 22.

Ticket Void Schedule:
Please note the following dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Friday, January 18:

  • GDS Void Date/ IAR Reconciliation: Monday, January 21.

ARC will be open and operating Monday, January 21 with the normal Customer Support Center hours of 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Eastern.

Tip of the Week: IAR Administrative Coverage

Having more than one IAR Administrator in your organization can decrease reporting issues that can arise when your sole IAR Administrator is unavailable. If you have multiple agents within your office, it is recommended that you add at least one additional IAR Administrator to serve as backup. The primary role of an IAR Administrator is to manage IAR user accounts. This includes:

  • Creating additional user accounts
  • Modifying a user account
  • Deleting a user account
  • Defining a user's role
  • Resetting a user's password

When a sole IAR Administrator is unavailable, user management functions cannot be performed. This may potentially impact sales reporting and may result in needless debit memos and/or unreported sales.
