As a result of the change in business processes for the travel industry (e.g. e-ticketing averaging approximately 97% of all ticket transactions), ARC has made the decision to change the Obsolescence Policy for all ARC Traffic Documents.(3426, 8212, 1186Z, 1164, 1035A, and 1094A).
All ARC Traffic Documents will no longer be subject to the obsolescence policy. The obsolescence policy previously stated that ARC Traffic Documents became obsolete based on the manufacturers Print Year plus 2 years which displayed on all accountable documents. Any accountable stock will remain valid- it will no longer expire based on the Print Year of the document.
Agents will be able to validate and/or issue ARC traffic documents for travel regardless of the Print Year appearing on the traffic document
ARC's latest Transaction History File is now available on CD. This file provides you with your settled and voided transaction information for all PEDs in 2005 or 2006. It comes equipped with FREE viewer software that allows you to easily search for a specific transaction, view it on screen, and print it onto a single page. Plus, the software is self-contained - there's nothing to install.
You can import the transaction data file into hundreds of popular software programs such as Microsoft Excel and Access, in order to create reports, manage, sort and analyze the data as you please. Click here to learn more.

On November 29, 2007, IAR will be enhanced to process up to 99 individual taxes for sales, refunds and exchange transactions, resulting in additional tax fields in IAR.
For sales and refund transactions, IAR will display 99 tax fields. For exchange transactions, IAR will display 99 tax fields for both the new document(s) and old document(s). The additional taxes processed can be loaded into IAR from the GDS or manually entered by a user.
In addition to IAR, the Back Office System (BOS) Detail file will display up to 99 taxes for sales and refund transactions. Exchange transactions will display up to 99 taxes for each new document.
To ensure a smooth transition, all training materials and online help documents will be updated to reflect this enhancement. For additional information, please refer to IAR Help News and Information.
Sales Report Submission
ARC's offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, 2007, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Agencies andCorporate Travel Departments will not have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 11/25/07. Your weekly sales report must be authorized bymidnight, Tuesday, November 27.

When working in the ARC Document Retrieval Service (DRS) or IAR you can find help online.
To access the online help, click on 'Help' in the upper right corner of the main blue-gray area. This will open up a new window with the first topic relevant to that screen. If the task you want to perform is not listed, click 'Show' in the upper left corner for the entire Help File listing.
Once you open the expanded view, you can:
To access the different features, click on the 'Table,' 'Index,' 'Search,' or 'Glossary' buttons in the upper left corner.
To browse the Table of Contents, click on the 'Table' button. On the left side bar, click on the page or book icon to view topic.
To search the Index, click on the 'Index' button. Type topic you want to view. Click on topic from the list on the left side bar to view topic.
To perform a general Search, click on the 'Search' button. Type the topic you want to view, click on 'Go' and then click on the topic from the results list on the left side bar.
To look up a definition of a word or phrase in the Glossary, click on the 'Glossary' button. Scroll through the list of terms and phrases to locate the one that you want. Click on the term that you want defined. The definition is located in the bottom window of the left side bar.
