Credit Card Chargeback Policy Clarification

The purpose of the credit card chargeback policy is to provide travel agents with the information they need to relieve themselves of liability from fraud-related credit card chargebacks.

The key points to remember are:

  • Follow the instructions and procedures contained in Section 8 of the Industry Agents' Handbook.
  • Validate the credit card expiration date and effective date.
  • Obtain an approval code.
  • In the issuing agency, physically obtain the customer's signature and card imprint on a Universal Credit Card Charge form.

Following proper procedures for all credit card sales, including sales initiated via the Internet or telephone, will offer the best protection in the event of a credit card chargeback.

Remember: Effective November 2005, only the Automated Credit Card Charge Form (those credit card charge forms printed on ATB stock) was discontinued. Manual Credit Card Charge Forms are still valid and can offer the best protection against fraud-related chargebacks.

ARC Labor Day Holiday Information - September 3, 2007

Sales Report Submission

ARC's offices will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2007, in observance of Labor Day. Agencies and CTDs will have an extra day to prepare the sales report for PED 09/02/07. Your weekly sales report must be authorized by midnight Wednesday, September 5.

Ticket Modification/Voiding Schedule

Please note the following dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Thursday, August 30:

  • GDS and IAR Void Date - Friday, August 31

Transactions issued Friday, August 31 - Sunday, September 2:

  • GDS and IAR Void Extension Date - Tuesday, September 4

Placing Emergency Document Requisition Orders Before theLabor Day Holiday

Please be advised that ARC will be closed Monday, September 3, 2007 in observance of Labor Day. Emergency orders placed Friday, August 31 before 4:00 PM EST will be delivered Tuesday, September 4 due to UPS scheduling. Please order your stock accordingly.
